The liberation movements in Africa remain in power largely because of the support of the youth. This is because the youths are in the majority and are the future of any country. Globally, the population of countries is comprised of young people as a majority. It is therefore important to invest in the youth. According to the United Nations (2015:1), the youth population is rapidly growing with 1.2 billion youth in the world. Africa's youth population is expected to continue to grow throughout the remainder of the 21st century. The youth structures of liberation movements are important for their ability to attract and address the challenges and aspirations of young people.
