The aim of the study was to investigate relationship between perceived organisational support (POS), job satisfaction (JS) and organisational citizenship behaviour (OCB) in a public service organisation. No previous studies could be found relating perceived organisational support, job satisfaction and organisational citizen behaviour, in a public service organisation such as the South African Police Service. A quantitative and descriptive research design was adopted to investigate a sample of 300 police officials through which data was collected by means of a structured questionnaire. A factor analytic procedure was followed for each of the three constructs (i.e., POS, JS and OCB). The reliability and validity were increased by conducting a pre-test and a pilot study prior to the final study. The results of the correlation analysis between the three constructs revealed a negative relationship between POS and OCB and between JS and OC
