This article focuses on the value of governance for the discipline of Political Science. A discipline such as Political Science cannot be static and must reflect on the current changes and new trends in research. It is the argument of this article that the political scientist must reflect on its epistemology and ontology. Any discipline must be open to new ideas and is confronted with new challenges. Governance has a political dimension because it reflects on the political process and includes more than just government. It is argued in this article that governance contributes to the enrichment of the discipline of Political Science, as governance deals with the manner in which government conducts its business or governs a country and makes decisions.
